Artists often show reduced latent inhibition (leaky cognitive filter), thinner mental boundaries, and higher openness—letting unconscious material flood in for originality, but raising flood-risk to disorder. Creativity and vulnerability share the same permeability. Low inhibition + high integration = gift; without the latter, overwhelm.
